Conferences and Workshops
The 8th values-based education conference titled "Good School as Values Based School. How to Develope Entrepreneurial Lifestyle?" was held on the 10th and 11th of December. The Centre for Ethics, University of Tartu organized the conference in cooperation with the education programme Enterprising School.
November 27th Centre for Ethics and Estonian Public Broadcasting organized a symposium ”Life Between Different Opinions. How is Deliberative Public formed?”.
August 14th to 15th Centre for Ethics in cooperation with the National Library of Estonia, NGO Loomus, Estonian Union for Child Welfare, the Chamber for Child Interests and an active citizen Kristina Mänd ogranized the "Value stage" at the Opinoin festival. During the two days six different ethics discussions took place, as well as a session of the value games developed by the Centre.
April 27th to 30th a short-term course titled "Ethics in teacher training and values education in Estonian and German schools" took place. The course was organized in co-operation with the Univeristy of Konstanz and it included students from both Estonia and Germany.
Colloquia
March 9th an ethics colloquium titled "How many parents is suitable?" took place. The panelists were: Toivo Maimets, Meego Remmel and Kadri Simm, moderated by Mats Volberg.
February 27th an ethics colloquium titled "Me and my life. The different sides of the right to decide" took place. The panelists were: Pirko Tõugu, Eda Rööpmann, Lea Voltri and Mari Petersen, moderated by Heidy Meriste.
Public lecutres
February 13th professor Aki-Mauri Huhtinen held a public lecture titled "The Double Edge of Information Sword". See also this article.
February 9th visiting associate professor Tatiana Golikova gave a public lecture titled "Formation of future foreign language teachers' and school students' values". See also Moral dilemmas in study process.
